Amosense Develops World's First Wireless Charging Shielding Sheet
Hyunwoo Industry Supplies PCB to LG Affiliates
'Rookie' YM Tech Provides Relay Supply to Three Battery Companies... Responding to Electric Vehicle High Voltage Trends
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] The domestic stock market is buzzing with expectations for the Apple Car. There are forecasts that many domestic iPhone parts suppliers will join the Apple Car parts supply chain. Along with the expectation that the related market will grow together with the launch of the Apple Car, the stock prices of companies possessing related technologies are also soaring one after another. However, as uncertainties regarding the Apple Car remain, voices urging caution when making investment decisions are growing louder.
At 10:54 a.m. on the 10th, Amosense was trading at 20,950 KRW, up 29.72% from the previous day.
Hyunwoo Industry, an LG Group PCB partner, is also rising more than 20%.
Battery demand due to the expansion of electric vehicle adoption in 2025 is projected to reach 1,033 GWh. Compared to 107 GWh in 2019, this is expected to increase tenfold, and Apple needs to expand its ecosystem by entering the market before the full-scale opening of the electric vehicle market.
Amosense, established in 2008, is a next-generation automotive electronics and Internet of Things (IoT) comprehensive solution company. It developed the world's first wireless charging shielding sheet. Amosense has acquired a patent for a high-power shielding sheet applicable to electric vehicles and is developing related products. It is also developing RF modules, considered core components of autonomous driving electronics, raising high expectations for the future automotive market.
Amosense independently developed Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology. With the emergence of mobile accessories equipped with UWB technology such as Apple's AirTag and Samsung Galaxy's SmartTag+, the related market is expected to grow rapidly. Amosense is also mass-producing location tracking devices in partnership with global mobile phone companies. In the sensor field, it has succeeded in developing a speaker location-based solution for voice recognition modules, which are key to the recently growing autonomous vehicles, as well as technology capable of separating simultaneous speech and multiple speakers.
The stock price of YM Tech, a newcomer to the KOSDAQ market, is also strong. This is interpreted as a result of increased expectations due to its cooperation with all three domestic battery companies. YM Tech's main sales product, the relay, is a switch (on/off) device used to control devices or current-carrying circuits in the electrical and electronic industries. Its major clients include Samsung SDI, LG Energy Solution, SK Innovation, and Signet EV. YM Tech has developed products that meet customer requirements through years of technical consultations.
Dongwon Kim, a researcher at KB Securities, said, "Apple is known to have shifted to in-house development for the Apple Car instead of cooperating with automobile manufacturers," and added, "Visibility of long-term supply contracts with battery companies such as LG Electronics, LG Innotek, LG Energy Solution, Samsung SDI, SK Innovation, and material companies such as Ecopro BM, L&F, Hansol Chemical, and POSCO Chemical will also expand simultaneously."
YM Tech is responding to the trend of increasing voltage in the electric vehicle market with funds raised through its initial public offering (IPO). It is researching and developing the DC 800V-class EVS-series products. After completing the development of prototype products by this year, it will proceed with mass production verification, accredited institution testing and evaluation, and acquisition of overseas certifications next year. The goal is to supply products reflecting customer requirements in 2023.
