[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] Woori Bank announced on the 10th that it held the '2021 Digital·IT Division New Employee Appointment Ceremony' using a 'metaverse platform.' This was evaluated as a way to comply with social distancing due to COVID-19 and to embody the purpose of hiring for the Digital·IT division.
The new employees were selected through a written test consisting of finance and digital trends, and a Digital Insight interview evaluating data analysis skills and logical thinking comprehensively.
They will be dispatched to branches for six months to acquire practical skills, complete the Digital Finance MBA program at major domestic universities such as KAIST, and then be assigned to related departments.
The event held the day before recreated the same space as the Woori Bank headquarters auditorium, the venue for the new employee appointment ceremony, using the 'metaverse platform.' The faces of Bank President Kwon Kwang-seok and the new employees were made into avatars to enhance realism and immersion.
A Woori Bank official said, “We conducted the new employee appointment ceremony through the metaverse to reflect the purpose of hiring new employees in the Digital·IT division, who have high acceptance of digital new technologies,” and added, “We will continue to expand the scope of use by applying digital technologies, including the metaverse, to various bank services.”
