[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) announced on the 9th that it has signed a business agreement with drone solution provider AirOn Co., Ltd. to jointly discover overseas Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects and establish an industrial ecosystem utilizing hydrogen drones.
Under this agreement, DMI plans to provide various services needed by partner countries, such as logistics delivery including vaccines, surveying, and patrolling, using hydrogen drones capable of long-duration flights. The two companies also plan to develop systematic and professional maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services in response to the growth of the hydrogen drone market, and to train hydrogen drone pilots and maintenance experts through specialized education.
Lee Doo-soon, CEO of DMI, said, "If we combine AirOn's extensive drone operation experience with hydrogen drone demonstration flights, we can create various business opportunities. Through this agreement, we will expand our business areas from drone manufacturing to operation and take the lead in building a drone industry ecosystem."
DMI is developing various applications in the mobility sector, ranging from aerial drones to ground-based hydrogen fuel cell firefighting robots. AirOn is a company that provides drone solutions applicable to both public and private sectors using its self-developed drone system and is designated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as a specialized drone education institution.
