[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Former Minister of Justice and Democratic Party presidential candidate Choo Mi-ae criticized the explanation by Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, regarding the so-called 'accusation solicitation' allegations, calling it "pathetic" and pointing out that "he even pressured people to recall events from over 10 years ago, including the commendation certificates related to the family of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, which happened a very long time ago."
On the 8th, Choo appeared on YTN Radio's 'Lee Dong-hyung's News Face-off' and said, "Mr. Kim says he doesn't remember events from a year ago and has changed his story several times. It's a typical trait of liars to change their words every time they speak."
Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's strong denial of the allegations, she said, "It's shameless and brazen," adding, "'There is no evidence,' 'It's a conspiracy,' they say, but since digital evidence is scientific evidence, if analyzed properly, the actual evidence will be revealed as is."
About Yoon's side claiming that the Choo Mi-ae faction is behind a political conspiracy, she sarcastically remarked, "If such a level of political conspiracy were true, I would have to be at the level of a fortune teller," adding, "I would need insight beyond a fortune teller to foresee that 1 year and 6 months later, Yoon Seok-yeol would become a presidential candidate and that I would expose this at that time."

Earlier, the online media outlet 'Newsbus' reported on the 2nd that in April last year, during former Prosecutor General Yoon's tenure, Son Jun-sung, then head of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office's Investigation Information Policy Division, allegedly solicited criminal accusations against ruling party politicians to Kim Woong, who was a candidate from the United Future Party. The accusation documents included names such as Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, and Choi Kang-wook and Hwang Hee-seok, then candidates for the Open Democratic Party (proportional representation).
In response, Kim held a press conference at the National Assembly communication office on the same day, explaining, "The accusation document reported on was not written by me."
He continued, "I do not remember whether I received the accusation documents and have no way to verify it. However, according to a screenshot in an article by a certain media outlet, it shows that I received files from a person named Son and delivered them to the party. If this information is true, it is possible that I received the materials from Mr. Son and passed them on to the party, but some suggest the possibility of fabrication and claim that the name was borrowed," he explained.
Regarding this, former Prosecutor General Yoon also expressed dissatisfaction at a press conference that afternoon, saying, "If you want to carry out political conspiracies in the future, prepare well and raise them through major media without hiding behind parliamentary immunity," adding, "I find it really pathetic that such conspiracies and provocations happen every election."
When asked whether the head of the Investigation Information Policy Division could act without the Prosecutor General's orders, Yoon replied, "It is possible," and questioned, "Even if they meet someone or exchange documents, do they report everything to the Prosecutor General and get approval?"
