[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] AI-specialized company Selvas AI announced on the 8th that its voice recognition-based ‘AI Real-time Transcription Solution’ is receiving favorable reviews from public institutions.
Selvas AI is expanding the application of its ‘AI Real-time Transcription Solution’ Steno Selvy to police stations. Last year, it successfully supplied the solution to 59 police stations and 77 investigation rooms, and this year it is in the process of additional supply to over 90 police stations nationwide.
Steno Selvy, supplied to police stations, is a solution that automatically converts the contents of testimony records into text, records and stores them to create a database (DB). It separates speakers (victims and investigators) and documents in real time, and also features an 'AI Investigation Guide' that displays related manuals and precedents according to the testimony. Together with its research partner Dongguk University, it is also building a classification system for crime types, which is expected to further maximize efficiency.
Positive feedback is already being received on site. Investigator Han Hyun-ok of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency, who uses the record support system, said, “We can convert the victim’s words into text without omission, which has increased both the frequency and convenience of investigations,” adding, “Investigation time has also been shortened, reducing fatigue, so investigators’ satisfaction is high.” She continued, “In serious cases where detention must be considered, there is a lot to handle, so the utilization of the real-time transcription solution, the record creation system, will be even greater.”
The system also received high marks in terms of improvement. Investigator Han Hyun-ok added, “As the system has been advanced, I feel that the recognition rate has improved compared to before, and I am very satisfied,” saying, “The error rate due to noise is low, and since we don’t have to type directly, the overall convenience of investigations has greatly increased.”
With the successful expansion of supply to the National Police Agency, Selvas AI’s AI real-time transcription solution is expected to accelerate its entry into the public market. Based on the accumulated database, various application projects including the Criminal Justice Information Portal (KICS) are planned. In addition, it can be sufficiently applied to courts, the National Assembly, and the legal market, where tasks such as investigation, inquiry, and meeting minutes (AI meeting minutes) preparation are required.
A Selvas AI official said, “Selvas AI’s voice recognition solution has excellent competitiveness based on high learning capability and outstanding recognition rate, and the voice recognition-based AI real-time transcription solution Steno Selvy has received excellent evaluations from investigators,” adding, “As it can be used in various industries such as healthcare, automotive, and education as well as public institutions, demand will continue to increase.”
