Emergency Budget Allocated to Revitalize Rural Economy Amid Prolonged COVID-19
Two Products from Chungbuk Region Launching at 4 PM on the 9th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Home&Shopping (CEO Kim Ok-chan) announced on the 8th that it will hold the nationwide rural product exhibition "Meeting Square" to overcome COVID-19.
"Meeting Square" was specially planned last year through an emergency broadcast to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Last year, a total of 8 products, including local agricultural, fishery, and livestock specialties and secondary processed foods made from these specialties, were discovered and launched through TV home shopping.
This year, the number of discovered products and broadcast time will be expanded to support more small and medium-sized enterprises. Starting with the nationwide rural product exhibition in Chungcheongbuk-do on the 9th, a total of 24 products will be showcased in collaboration with local governments such as Jeollabuk-do and Daejeon Metropolitan City.
On the 9th, during "Meeting Square Live - Taste of Chungbuk," Jecheon apple juice and Chungju Hangagol Cheonggukjang will be introduced for 50 minutes each in sequence. In this broadcast, the product planner in charge will visit the respective regions and deliver the entire process from product harvesting to production through on-site footage to enhance the product's credibility.
A Home&Shopping official said, "To support local small and medium-sized enterprises struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we decided to organize support broadcasts again this year following last year." He added, "Through Meeting Square, we will provide customers with the opportunity to purchase excellent local products with great benefits and offer small and medium-sized enterprises a chance to secure sales channels."
