Gangwon Provincial Police Agency, Establishes Police '2nd Mobile Unit'

Responsible for Various Security Situations and Public Safety

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] The Gangwon Provincial Police Agency established the 2nd Mobile Unit on the 7th.

The 2nd Mobile Unit is the second police mobile unit following the 1st Mobile Unit established in February this year, consisting of 86 members including the mobile unit commander.

The main duties include various security situations (managing assemblies and demonstrations, escorting, large-scale gatherings, etc.) and public safety (disaster and accident response, crime prevention, etc.).

The establishment of the 2nd Mobile Unit replaces the existing conscripted police units with police officer mobile units; all conscripted police units (Mobile 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Companies) were disbanded last year.

Gangwon Police plan to establish the 3rd police officer Mobile Unit in the second half of next year.
