"Work and Relaxation on Vacation"‥ 'Gangwon Workation' Briefing Session to be Held on the 8th [Provided by Gangwon-do Tourism Foundation]

[Asia Economy Reporter La Youngcheol] The Gangwon Tourism Foundation will hold the 'Gangwon Workation Briefing Session' online through the foundation's YouTube account on the 8th.


'Workation' is a compound word of 'Work + Vacation,' referring to a new work and travel trend that combines work and rest at vacation spots such as mountains and beaches.


According to the Tourism Foundation on the 7th, the briefing session is an event held ahead of the domestic workation culture expansion, providing information about the 'Gangwon Workation' program, which will take place for a month from the 29th of this month in Pyeongchang-gun and Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do.


The briefing session includes expert lectures from various perspectives through understanding workation, a customized work & travel trend for remote and telecommuting workers, and overseas cases.


Do Yujin, the director of the 'Workation' documentary and author of 'Digital Nomad, Freedom to Work and Live Anywhere,' will present on the topic of what a digital nomad is and why people become digital nomads.


Yoon Heesik, Head of Policy at Airbnb, the world's largest accommodation sharing company, will introduce workation from the accommodation perspective, along with global workation cases and statistics.


Shin Seongcheol, Head of Business Development at the global travel-tech company Yanolja, will explain the new normal era's working methods to the briefing participants.


Lee Seoncheol, CEO of 'Gamjakkot Studio,' a local creator active in the Pyeongchang area, will present on his actual workation experience and the future direction of 'Gangwon Workation.'


Choi Dongseok, Head of Domestic Marketing at the foundation, said, "We hope that the 'Gangwon Workation' program will become Korea's representative workation model through this briefing session," adding, "We hope that this new form of work called workation will be recognized by society and that many people will visit Gangwon-do for workation."
