National Palace Museum Exhibition Design Wins K-Design Award 'Winner'

Designer Lee Seyoung's 'Sinwangsildo' · 'Gunsaire'

The National Palace Museum of Korea announced on the 5th that two exhibition designs showcased last year won the 'Winner' award in the spatial category at the international design competition, the K-Design Award. The designs were for the first half exhibition "New Royal Ceramics - Western-style Ceramics Used in the Joseon Royal Court" and the second half exhibition "Symbol of Joseon Royal Military Power, Military Ceremonies." Both were handled by designer Lee Se-young. The "New Royal Ceramics" exhibition was highly praised for its use of colors and spatial composition that matched the characteristics and themes of the artifacts, while the "Military Ceremonies" exhibition received high marks for the grand arrangement of the artifacts.

The K-Design Award is one of Asia's leading international design competitions. It is divided into spatial, industrial, and communication categories. This year, 3,087 works were submitted from 26 countries. After evaluation by twenty-nine experts, 314 works were selected as award winners.
