[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The High-ranking Officials’ Crime Investigation Unit (PCC) stated regarding the 'allegations of complaint solicitation' during former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol’s tenure, "If a complaint is received, we will accept and review it according to the established procedures."

A PCC official responded this way to reporters’ questions about the PCC’s stance on former Prosecutor General Yoon’s allegations during a briefing on the investigation results of Seoul Education Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon’s 'special hiring of dismissed teachers' held at the Government Complex Gwacheon on the 3rd.

Earlier, on the previous day, the online media Newsbus reported that the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office, during former Prosecutor General Yoon’s tenure, handed over complaints against pro-ruling party politicians including Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, to Kim Woong, a People Power Party candidate, thereby soliciting complaints.

In response, the Citizens’ Action for Judicial Justice announced that they would file a complaint with the PCC on the 6th regarding the allegations of complaint solicitation against former Prosecutor General Yoon.

The PCC official also stated regarding the case of former Prosecutor General Yoon, which is already under investigation, "The investigation has not been stopped," adding, "It is ongoing." Furthermore, the official said, "Basically, the investigation will not be conducted with political motives," and "We will investigate according to the established principles."

The PCC is currently investigating former Prime Minister Han Myeong-sook’s alleged obstruction of investigation by coaching false testimony and the allegations of inadequate investigation into the Optimus fraud case, with former Prosecutor General Yoon being booked and under investigation.
