SK Telecom Launches 'T Deal' Gift Service

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom announced on the 3rd that it has added a 'Gift Sending' service to its big data-based text commerce platform 'T deal'.


This service can be used by paying for a product as a gift and then entering only the recipient's name and mobile phone number. The recipient can enter the delivery address through the message link sent via text. The Gift Sending service applies to all products sold on T deal, and various message templates can be selected according to the purpose of the gift to be sent along with the gift. The Gift Sending service is available regardless of the recipient's subscribed carrier.


T deal sells products at the lowest online prices through a new purchasing model called 'Instant Group Purchase,' which utilizes SK Telecom's big data and AI technology. Unlike traditional group purchases where multiple people have to gather and wait for the purchase to be confirmed, Instant Group Purchase selects products with high preference through consumer big data analysis and sends the product and coupon link via text to customers with a high probability of purchase, effectively enabling group purchase.


Additionally, if a product is not at the lowest online price, it is excluded from the sales target by an automatic monitoring system, allowing customers to purchase all products at the lowest price. T deal shows a growth trend with a 74% repurchase rate and more than a sevenfold increase in new customers as of August compared to the same period last year, through the Instant Group Purchase model utilizing big data analysis.


Jang Hongseong, Head of SK Telecom's Advertising and Data Company (CO), stated, “With the launch of the T deal Gift Sending service, we expect more consumers to be able to purchase carefully selected products by SK Telecom at reasonable prices.”
