Kim Seong-hoe, spokesperson for the Open Democratic Party, said on the 2nd, "News Bus reported that the Yoon Seok-yeol prosecution, with the general election just around the corner, ordered the People Power Party to file complaints against Rho Moo-hyun Foundation Chairman Yoo Si-min and our party’s candidates Choi Kang-wook and Hwang Hee-seok." He added, "The complaint documents were delivered by Son Jun-sung, who was then the Policy Officer of the Investigation Information Division at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, to Kim Woong, the People Power Party candidate for Songpa Gap district, and candidate Kim Woong passed them on to the People Power Party."

Spokesperson Kim said, "The fact that the People Power Party singled out and filed a complaint accusing our party leader Choi Kang-wook’s appearance on a YouTube broadcast during his candidacy as spreading false information suggests the dark background behind this. Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol once sharply said during his prosecution days, 'If you use investigative authority for retaliation, aren’t you a gangster, not a prosecutor?' The order to file complaints against Open Democratic Party candidates Choi Kang-wook and Hwang Hee-seok, who led prosecution reform, and against journalists who led power oversight, has exposed to the world that he himself is a gangster. If not, we expect an active explanation."

Regarding the People Power Party, he sharpened his words, saying, "They must clearly reveal who received the complaint documents prepared by the prosecution from candidate Kim Woong at that time and whether it was reported to the election campaign committee. There must be an active explanation regarding the shocking criminal acts of political manipulation carried out by the prosecution and the opposition party ahead of the general election."

He added, "The Legislation and Judiciary Committee must be convened immediately, and a national audit on the political manipulation involving the main opposition party and the political prosecution must be conducted. The Ministry of Justice and the prosecution must also immediately begin an official inspection of the involved prosecutor."

Spokesperson Kim criticized, "The Open Democratic Party will thoroughly investigate the criminal acts of the prosecution and the People Power Party who tried to interfere in the general election through the farce of filing complaints against candidates and journalists. Those who distort the will of the people have no right to set foot inside a political party."
