Galaxia Metaverse Secures the Largest Number of Sports-Related NFT Contents

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Galaxia Metaverse, a blockchain-specialized subsidiary, recently announced on the 1st that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding NFT issuance with the Korea Canoe Federation and the Korea Triathlon Federation. Sports marketing company Galaxia SM also participated in the MOU signing. With this, Galaxia Metaverse has secured the largest number of sports-related NFT contents.

NFT (Non-Fungible Token) refers to "content with rarity" created by assigning a unique value that cannot be duplicated to digital content based on blockchain technology. It is a technology that transforms content that previously could not hold value into assets, and interest in it has surged recently across various fields.

Galaxia Metaverse plans to showcase various NFTs, including game images and video content owned by the Korea Canoe Federation, to make canoeing more accessible and familiar to the public. The Korea Canoe Federation includes Cho Gwanghee, the "Asia's strongest" athlete who achieved two consecutive Asian Games championships.

The Korea Triathlon Federation hosts the only international competition in Korea approved by the International Triathlon Union (ITU), so it is expected to launch various types of NFT products utilizing content from both domestic and international competitions. Additionally, a new type of sponsorship market is planned to open, where donation certification NFT cards supporting canoeing and triathlon events will be issued, or a portion of the proceeds from NFT product sales can be donated.

A Galaxia Metaverse official stated, "By attracting customers interested in NFTs to a new fandom of sports games, it will be possible to form a new market," and added, "Through securing a wide range of sports IPs, we will not only diversify NFT products but also realize positive social impact by forming a new type of sponsorship market."

Meanwhile, Galaxia Metaverse is a subsidiary established by fintech specialist Galaxia Moneytree to strengthen expertise in blockchain business and is preparing to launch an NFT platform this November.
