KG Dongbu Steel Unveils New Look for Color Steel Plates with Integrated Brand ‘X-TONE’


[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] KG Dongbu Steel is launching a new brand, ‘X-TONE,’ to target the color steel sheet market.


On the 30th, KG Dongbu Steel announced that it will launch X-TONE, a brand that integrates its color steel sheet products.


X-TONE is a compound word combining the letter X, symbolizing Excellence of materials, Expertise in technology, and Extention of products, and Tone, meaning intonation and atmosphere.


According to KG Dongbu Steel, X-TONE conveys the meaning that customers can freely combine color steel sheets with various colors and patterns to create their desired lifestyle.


The main products of X-TONE include ‘NF (No Fire) Non-combustible Color Steel Sheet,’ specialized in fire prevention as it does not ignite; ‘BioCOT Antibacterial Steel Sheet,’ which prevents bacterial growth; and ‘Printech Steel Sheet,’ which can express free patterns and shapes.


In particular, the NF Non-combustible Color Steel Sheet is a product developed by KG Dongbu Steel in 2019 as the first domestic color steel sheet to meet the KS standard for non-combustible materials. It is specialized in safety and has been spotlighted mainly in school buildings and public institutions, surpassing 1,000 tons in sales within one year of its launch last year.


Additionally, KG Dongbu Steel has continuously pursued product development, introducing products such as the wood-patterned ‘Real Wood Embossed Steel Sheet’ and the ‘Snow Crystal Embossed Steel Sheet,’ which is specialized for frozen panels by modeling snow crystals, thereby currently holding the largest number of embossed patterns domestically.


In this way, KG Dongbu Steel has rolled up its sleeves to continuously maintain its unique position in the color steel sheet market. Through the launch of the new brand X-TONE, KG Dongbu Steel aims to unify its color steel sheet brands to enhance recognition and increase the purchase conversion rate of newly incoming customers.


Along with this, KG Dongbu Steel has revamped its website. On the redesigned website, customers can virtually apply KG Dongbu Steel’s color steel sheet products and try various combinations online in advance. Additionally, a new in-house mall function enabling product purchases directly from the website has been introduced.
