[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Volleyball player Kim Yeon-koung attracted attention by revealing an episode with actor Jo Seung-woo.

On the 27th, SBS PowerFM's 'Kim Young-chul's PowerFM' aired a phone interview with Kim Yeon-koung conducted by DJ Kim Young-chul.

On this day, Kim Young-chul introduced, "We have invited Kim Yeon-koung, the bread sister who has represented South Korea women's volleyball for 16 years, for a special interview. This is her first official interview since the Tokyo Olympics. We managed to get her on the phone interview with difficulty."

When Kim Young-chul asked Kim Yeon-koung, "Why is your fan nickname 'Jamjami'?" Kim Yeon-koung replied, "I am called the bread sister. Fans gave me this nickname because they say I spread jam on bread."

When asked, "It has been more than two weeks since the Olympics ended. Are you exercising even during your break?" Kim Yeon-koung said, "If I rest too long, it becomes difficult to come back, so I keep exercising steadily in between."

Kim Yeon-koung added, "Right now, I am not doing technical training but focusing on basic fitness through weight training."

A listener shared a sighting of Kim Yeon-koung at a performance venue. In response, Kim Yeon-koung recalled, "During this break, I went to see actor Jo Seung-woo's musical 'Hedwig' with actress Jung Ryeo-won. When actor Jo Seung-woo noticed I was there, he shouted 'Sikppang' (bread) during a scene where he gets aggressive and swears. It was hilarious."

She continued, "The performance itself was very fun with many hilarious moments, and it was great that he shouted 'Sikppang' because I was there."

Another listener was curious about Kim Yeon-koung's playlist. Kim Yeon-koung said, "I listen to Hong Dae-kwang's 'I Hope It Goes Well' before matches. It’s a song that really makes me feel like everything will go well."

Regarding her retirement from the national team, Kim Yeon-koung said, "Mixed feelings crossed my mind. Even now, it’s hard to express those emotions. I feel both relieved and bittersweet, and memories of all the hardships come back vividly, stirring many emotions."

She added, "I hope the juniors do well and continue the atmosphere. I also hope many people continue to show interest, and players like me definitely have to come out. But it won’t be easy," she joked, drawing laughter.

When a listener asked, "If you quit being a player, what would you like to do?" Kim Yeon-koung said, "I have many things I want to try these days. I’m thinking about trying broadcasting work, or maybe volleyball coaching or administration, among other things."

Finally, Kim Yeon-koung said to the listeners, "I sincerely thank you for all the love during the Olympic period. I’m glad to communicate even a little through this phone connection." She added, "Please continue to show much interest and love for women's volleyball."
