[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Corpus Korea, a company specializing in Hallyu content, announced its Q2 2021 earnings on the 27th through a public disclosure.
Corpus Korea's consolidated Q2 sales and operating profit for this year were 7.3 billion KRW and 2.9 billion KRW, respectively. These figures increased by 45.0%, 107.5%, and 87.3% respectively compared to the same period last year.
A company representative stated, "Due to the consecutive declarations of a state of emergency in Japan recently, the spread of non-face-to-face culture and increased time spent at home have accelerated the growth of the OTT market. The Hallyu wave continues as many Hallyu contents rank on the popularity charts of OTT platforms in Japan, which has been directly reflected in our strong performance." They added, "The content supply service contract with Amazon Prime Video signed last April began to be recognized as partial revenue from Q2, and the remaining content supply schedule for the second half of the year is proceeding smoothly."
The company representative also explained, "In line with the global growth trend in the content industry, we expect good results for the remaining period as well. The company is dedicating great effort to securing killer content alongside producing Hallyu dramas, and we are achieving positive outcomes."
