[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Winia Dimchae announced on the 26th that it has launched the 2022 model of its kimchi refrigerator "Dimchae." The new product features a newly equipped kimchi fermentation algorithm that enhances immunity through Dimchae's unique fermentation science technology.
According to Winia Dimchae, the new product has improved its proprietary ±0.1℃ ultra-precision temperature control technology. It applies the original underground cooling method, which cools the storage compartment directly, along with the top cooling system and 10 specialized kimchi aging modes. Additionally, a new aging algorithm has been implemented that can increase the antioxidant capacity (ability to remove active oxygen) of aged kimchi stored in Dimchae to more than twice that of freshly stored kimchi.
Moreover, it is the only product in Korea to feature a "Bordeaux Special" room in its 4-door 5-room flagship model, which allows users to select and store red wine, white wine, and sparkling wine separately, as well as professionally store beer and soju.
Reflecting recent food culture trends such as home drinking and homemade products, a fermentation aging mode that enables users to make and store Makgeolli and fruit syrup has been applied to the Dimchae stand and lid-type models. Smart functions that apply appropriate temperatures for each ingredient using Dimchae's unique temperature control technology have also been added, including customized storage for baby food ingredients and salads, and ice-temperature aging mode that enhances the umami of meat.
Along with Korean aesthetics, the product adds fresher and younger colors such as Aurora Purple and Champagne Color Metal, which are the first digital printing colors in large home appliances. It uses transparent containers that allow users to check the contents without opening the kimchi refrigerator and is equipped with a powerful deodorizing filter to keep the interior clean. Additionally, a 400ℓ 3-door model with door pockets has been released, saving space while improving user convenience.
The 2022 model kimchi refrigerator Dimchae comes in a total of 74 types, with 49 stand-type models priced between 1.9 million and 4.7 million KRW, and 25 lid-type models priced between 700,000 and 1.7 million KRW.
