Netmarble's New Release 'Marvel Future Revolution' Launches

Pre-Download Ranked No.1 in 78 Countries... Q3 Earnings Improvement Expected

Netmarble will launch its new role-playing game (RPG) ‘Marvel Future Revolution’ on the 25th.

Marvel Future Revolution, officially released at 5 p.m. on the same day in 240 countries worldwide, is the second collaboration between Netmarble and Marvel. The game was developed by Netmarble Monster, the team behind ‘Marvel Future Fight,’ which has been enjoyed by over 120 million players globally.

Marvel Future Revolution is based on the ‘Convergence’ phenomenon, where multiple Earths from different universes begin to merge into one. The story unfolds across various locations such as ‘New Stark City,’ ‘Hydra Empire,’ and ‘Sakaar.’ Players become members of the newly formed ‘Omega Flight’ and can train superheroes with diverse abilities, including Captain America, Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, and Storm, to participate in battles to protect Earth.

The market response has been positive. The pre-download, which Netmarble started the day before, ranked number one in popularity on the Apple App Store in 78 countries worldwide, including South Korea, the United States, and Japan. Pre-download allows users interested in the game to download it in advance before the official release and serves as a measure of user expectations.

Netmarble, which recorded somewhat sluggish performance in the first half of the year, is expected to make a comeback with the new release. Netmarble’s second-quarter earnings showed a 15.8% decrease in revenue year-on-year to 577.2 billion KRW and an 80.2% drop in operating profit to 16.2 billion KRW. Securities firms are focusing on the potential success of Marvel Future Revolution. Seong Jong-hwa, a researcher at Ebest Investment & Securities, predicted, "The third-quarter performance will improve significantly due to the reflection of Marvel Future Revolution."
