[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sun-ho) announced on the 24th that it has expanded the installation of Life Love Logo Projectors for suicide prevention within the county.
The county installed six Life Love Logo Projectors at six locations, including high-risk suicide areas and places with heavy foot traffic such as parks, in front of schools, and around restaurants, to raise awareness about suicide and spread a culture of respect for life.
Last year, the county installed two logo projectors and is currently operating a total of eight units.
The logo projector is a landscape lighting device that uses LEDs to project specific phrases or images onto the floor or walls.
In dark environments, the colors and images stand out well, making the message delivery highly effective and expected to have a strong impact on suicide prevention publicity.
The suicide prevention phrases consist of suicide prevention counseling phone numbers and warm messages, automatically projecting images at intervals of about 7 to 10 seconds.
A health and medical center official stated, “Through the Life Love Logo Projector, which comforts the heart and conveys empathy, we will do our best to raise awareness of suicide among county residents, spread a culture of respect for life, and create a safe environment.”
He added, “If you have difficult feelings such as depression or if you have family or acquaintances experiencing such difficulties, you can receive 24-hour professional counseling through suicide counseling phone lines, suicide prevention hotlines, and youth phone services.”
