[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) has completed the first round of additional National Support Fund payments for low-income households.
On the 24th, the county announced that it paid an additional 100,000 KRW per person to low-income households struggling with livelihood difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The support targets, as of the 31st of this month, include ▲Basic Livelihood Security recipients ▲Statutory second-lowest income bracket ▲4,127 single-parent families receiving child-rearing support.
This is separate from the National Coexistence Support Fund (5th Disaster Relief Fund).
The support funds were paid in bulk to the representative account of each household according to the number of household members, and additional recipients are expected to receive payments around mid-next month.
A county official said, “We expect the support funds to help stabilize residents' lives and stimulate local community consumption,” adding, “We will continue to strive to prepare support measures that assist those who need social consideration or are economically vulnerable.”
