[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Jeong Cheong-rae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, mocked the so-called 'two-tone' conflict between Yoon Seok-yeol, the presidential pre-candidate from the People Power Party, and party leader Lee Jun-seok, saying, "A dysfunctional family is always noisy."

On the 23rd, Jeong shared a photo on his Facebook of members of 'Yoon Sa-mo' (a group that loves Yoon Seok-yeol) holding a rally condemning Lee and stated, "Lee Jun-seok as party leader and Yoon Seok-yeol as candidate? Their political compatibility is terrible."

At 2 p.m. that day, Yoon Sa-mo, a supporters' group for candidate Yoon, held a rally in front of the People Power Party's Daegu city office, demanding, "Lee, who conspired to kill Yoon Seok-yeol, the leading opposition presidential candidate, should voluntarily resign and hold a fair primary." They criticized, "Former Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong revealed that Lee said, '(Yoon Seok-yeol) will soon be dealt with,' which means the party leader himself betrayed the basic trust of a politician and betrayed the people."

Jeong Cheong-rae on the People Power Party's 'Two-Tone' Conflict: "Political Compatibility is Terrible... A Dysfunctional Family is Always Noisy" On the 23rd, Jeong Cheong-rae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, posted on his Facebook criticizing the conflict between Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential primary candidate, and Lee Jun-seok, the party leader.

Upon news of Yoon Sa-mo's rally, Yoon's camp requested the protest be canceled. On the same day, Jang Je-won, head of the comprehensive situation room at Yoon's campaign, stated in a press release, "We understand Yoon Sa-mo is a voluntary group operating independently of candidate Yoon. We believe the rally could cause unnecessary misunderstandings and internal party conflicts. Respecting candidate Yoon's emphasis on party unity, we ask for the rally to be refrained from."

Meanwhile, the truth dispute over the recorded conversation within the People Power Party was triggered when former Governor Won claimed at the party's supreme council meeting on the 17th that "Lee told me, 'Candidate Yoon will be dealt with soon.'" That same night, Lee denied Won's claim and released part of the recording.

On the 23rd, Lee officially apologized for the internal party turmoil that occurred ahead of the presidential primary.
