Using AI Home Run and Learning Management Services
on Android Tablet PCs
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] Digital platform company KT announced on the 24th that it has launched a universal application (app) ‘KT Homeschool X AI Home Run’ (hereinafter KT Homeschool) to expand the usability of the smart home learning service ‘Olleh TV Homeschool X AI Home Run’ for elementary school students.
In May, KT collaborated with Icecream Edu, a leading domestic edutech company, to introduce Olleh TV Homeschool, which allows users to access AI Home Run and AI learning management services through the Olleh TV Tab device.
With the release of the KT Homeschool universal app, customers no longer need to purchase an Olleh TV Tab or other dedicated smart home learning devices; they can simply download the Homeschool app from the Google Play Store and use the KT Homeschool service on their existing Android tablets.
Customers using KT’s wireless services can enjoy KT Homeschool at a more reasonable price. KT is running a promotion offering a discount of 15,000 KRW, allowing customers subscribed to its low-cost plans or PAD plans to use KT Homeschool for 68,600 KRW per month.
KT Homeschool provides ▲ premium learning content for all elementary school grades fully aligned with the curriculum, ▲ ‘AI Life Record Book’ that analyzes over 15,000 daily learning data points to inform students’ strengths, weaknesses, and progress status, and ▲ ‘Good Parent App’ to assist parents in managing their children’s learning. Like Olleh TV Homeschool, two devices can be simultaneously accessed with one account, enabling two children to use the service together.
Additionally, by applying eye-tracking technology from AI software developer VisualCamp, KT Homeschool has been enhanced to easily understand students’ concentration and learning patterns and support customized self-directed learning. This method analyzes the gaze of children during study using the tablet’s standard camera.
KT also introduced ‘AiTuru,’ an AI tutor that combines KT GiGA Genie voice recognition technology to monitor children’s learning status from start to finish and provide interactive coaching. Children can set learning goals and receive feedback by conversing with AiTuru, who acts like a friend or teacher. Games designed to improve concentration help children immerse themselves in learning.
Kim Hun-bae, Executive Vice President of KT Media Platform Business Division, said, “Concerns about non-face-to-face education environments, such as learning gaps and declining basic academic skills, are growing due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. Based on KT’s edutech capabilities, we will strengthen interactive learning functions using a wider range of devices such as IPTV and tablets, so that students and parents can enjoy more innovative educational environments and services in the post-COVID era.”
Meanwhile, KT is holding an event where everyone who applies for a 10-day free trial of KT Homeschool will receive a Banana Milk Gift Show. Additionally, by participating in the KT Homeschool free trial social network service (SNS) certification event, participants have a chance to win prizes such as the ‘Galaxy Tab S7 SE’ and ‘Galaxy Watch 4’ through a lottery. Detailed information is available on KT’s official website.
