Investment IR Presentation at Virtual Expo Booth Using Metaverse Platform

The First 'Metaverse' Startup Investment Event Held at a Domestic University

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) will hold the '2021 1st DGIST Power Bridge in METAVERSE,' a startup investment attraction event using a metaverse platform, for the first time among domestic universities on the 27th.

This event is the first in a domestic university to apply a metaverse platform to an IR event, aiming to overcome the limitations of non-face-to-face events due to COVID-19 and provide an effective communication environment and a sense of presence.

The event offers an opportunity for communication and cooperation among stakeholders by introducing the business models of DGIST technology-based startups. It has been held for four years since 2018, but this is the first year applying the metaverse platform. This year, investment IR presentations will be conducted by three startups (Jimbo Robotics, Infinix, Savanna Music). Various attractions and entertainment will be provided, including ▲DGIST startup exhibitions through virtual fair booths ▲metaverse performance shows ▲O,X quizzes.

Lee Dong-ha, Director of DGIST Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, stated, “The metaverse-based IR event, the first of its kind at a domestic university held by DGIST, is a new method fitting the digital trend and is expected to quench participants' thirst for face-to-face events.”

□ He added, “As a result of actively discovering and nurturing startups like this, remarkable achievements have been made recently, such as Series A investment attraction by three startups and selection for preliminary startup package support for six preliminary startup teams,” and “We will continue to pioneer future innovative industries through comprehensive support for startups, contributing to regional communities and national industrial development.”

The event can be watched live by anyone through the YouTube channel ‘DGIST Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.’
