Emart24 Collaborates with Famous Eatery 'Kate Bunsikdang' to Launch 'Kate Cham Machu Kimbap' Two types of Kate Chamachu Gimbap.

Launching Differentiated Food Items to Match the Start of 2nd Semester School Attendance
"Will Introduce Local Famous Restaurant Products Starting with Collaboration with Kate Bunsikdang"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Emart24 announced on the 24th that it will collaborate with the famous restaurant in Songpa-gu, Seoul, 'Kate Bunsikdang,' to launch two types of 'Kate Cham Machu Gimbap (Mild·Hot)'.

Kate Bunsikdang is a well-known restaurant famous for its differentiated menu items such as Ttaengcho Gimbap and Jijim Tteokbokki, developed directly by Chef Kang Kyung-hee, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, using high-quality ingredients. Emart24 stated that after a three-month recipe development process with Chef Kang Kyung-hee, they are launching the 'Kate Cham Machu Gimbap 2 types'.

Kate Cham Machu Gimbap is an abbreviation of 'Tuna Mayo Chili Gimbap,' combining tuna mayo and pickled chili peppers. When cooking the rice, kelp is added to enhance the umami flavor, and the addition of pickled chili peppers gives it a spicy and tangy taste different from the usual spiciness made with gochujang, red pepper powder, or Cheongyang chili peppers. The price is 3,900 won each.

Emart24 explained that as school attendance is expected to expand in the future, they are offering a variety of fresh food (FF) products popular among students in addition to the collaboration products with famous restaurants. Representative products include Sausage Napolitan Pasta (3,900 won), Moist Egg Molang Sandwich (2,500 won), and Ham Egg Scramble Signature Hot Dog (3,400 won), which have been available since mid-month.

Before COVID-19, in 2019, sales of FF products in school and academy commercial districts surged to 76% compared to the previous month in September, when the new semester started. This figure is about three times higher than the 20% range increase in sales compared to the previous month in July and August of the same year.

The 'Morning Set,' which offers discounted breakfast items for students and office workers attending school and work, is also continuously operated. The Morning Set offers up to 30% discount when purchasing popular breakfast items such as sandwiches, fruits, brewed coffee, and beverages together from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Lee Bori, a buyer at Emart24, said, "With the start of students attending school, we expect an increase in customers looking for food products, so we have prepared various products," adding, "We plan to continue introducing differentiated products that can only be tasted at Emart24 through collaborations with local famous restaurants."
