SMEC launches two eco-friendly machine tools... "Promoting overseas export expansion"

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Smec, a specialized company in machine tools and industrial robots, announced on the 23rd that it will newly launch the 5-axis machining center ‘MVF5000’ and the LM-type high-speed multi-tasking machine ‘NS2100SY’.

Both the MVF5000 and NS2100SY are products developed targeting the US and European markets. With the launch of these two machines, Smec has strengthened its machine tool lineup and plans to expand overseas exports through this.

The MVF5000 is a 5-axis machining center capable of completing the machining of complex structured parts required in the aerospace and medical device industries in a single setup. It is superior to competitors in terms of structural rigidity and price-performance ratio, and offers various customer-centric convenience features and optional functions that customers can choose from. Demand for 5-axis machining centers is known to be steadily increasing in North America, South America, and Europe.

The NS2100SY is an LM-type multi-tasking CNC lathe. Until now, Smec has pursued the traditional high-rigidity box guide type. However, due to the recent increase in demand for high-speed multi-tasking machines in markets such as the automotive industry, it has released a multi-tasking lathe applying the LM type. The LM type allows high-speed machining compared to the box guide type and simplifies the equipment manufacturing process, thereby shortening production schedules.

It is also evaluated as a product suitable for the recently established ‘eco-friendly’ theme. According to the company, measures have been taken to save energy and minimize the emission of environmentally harmful substances. In the future, Smec plans to incorporate eco-friendly elements into all newly developed equipment.
