On the 23rd, Mayor Yoo presided over a video executive meeting and said, "As Omais is moving north toward our country, Jeongeup is expected to come under indirect influence after 9 p.m. tonight."
He added, "Please ensure thorough typhoon preparedness, including special inspections and management of various workplaces, hazardous areas, and facilities, emergency inspections of rainwater and sewage pipes and manholes, and checking the rapid response manual for emergency situations."
On the same day, Mayor Yoo also carefully addressed current issues such as strengthening COVID-19 quarantine measures in preparation for the Chuseok holiday and the smooth payment of various support funds.
Mayor Yoo stated, "As the nationwide population movement during the upcoming Chuseok holiday is expected to be significant, concentrate all efforts on strengthening quarantine and do your best to ensure the smooth payment of various COVID-19-related support funds, including the coexistence national support fund and the low-income national support fund."
He also instructed the establishment of a comprehensive promotion plan for the area around Naejangsan Culture Plaza, a tourism hub.
Mayor Yoo said, "The area around Naejangsan Culture Plaza is concentrated with tourism resources such as Naejangsan National Leisure Camping Site, Water Park, and Forest Product Experience Complex. Do not limit promotion to individual and fragmented efforts but prepare a comprehensive and continuous promotion strategy."
He reiterated the importance of accelerating the progress of 77 public pledge projects during the 7th local government term and emphasized efforts to install and promote information boards for the 290-year-old Naejangsan maple tree recently designated as a natural monument.
