[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samyook University has produced 318 graduates for the second semester of the 2020 academic year. Although the degree conferment ceremony could not be held due to COVID-19, a congratulatory video from President Kim Ilmok was posted on the university's website and SNS to bless the graduates' future.

The graduates who received their degrees on this day include △14 doctoral graduates and 28 master's graduates from the General Graduate School △4 master's graduates from the Theological Graduate School △4 master's graduates from the Clinical Nursing Graduate School △268 bachelor's graduates, totaling 318. Among them, 11 international students from the United States, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and 2 students with disabilities also proudly wore their graduation caps.

Samyook University rented academic gowns from the 18th to the 25th so that students visiting the campus could take commemorative photos, and created a graduation atmosphere by installing a large banner on the outer wall of the main auditorium and a photo wall. Diplomas were distributed at each department office.

Although the official event was canceled, students alleviated their regrets by individually gathering with family, relatives, classmates, and seniors and juniors, taking commemorative photos on campus, and meeting their academic advisors.

In his congratulatory speech, President Kim Ilmok said, "There are lives that leave a lasting impression like a great work of art, and there are people who live like products that are used briefly and discarded. A work of art gains more value as time passes, but a product becomes old and obsolete, replaced by new products." He added, "A life practicing love for neighbors is a masterpiece comparable to deeply moving music or art. I hope the life storybook you are writing becomes such a beautiful work of art."
