[Born in '58, Ms. Sunja] Entrepreneur Approaching 60, Studying the 'Digital Generation' by Attending YouTube Academy Jang Taehyo, CEO of Barosign, is introducing the company at the Barosign office in Seo-gu, Daejeon. Barosign is a smart waybill company founded last year by CEO Jang.

Editor's NoteThe 3.6 million women of the Baby Boomer generation in South Korea each have their own unique stories. Their backgrounds, occupations, and desired life directions vary widely. It is necessary to understand them not as flattened figures labeled simply as mothers, wives, or ajummas, but as individuals with diverse desires and goals. Asia Economy directly listened to the voices of Baby Boomer women, each sprinting forward as 'three-dimensional subjects.'

[Asia Economy Reporters Kim Hyun-jung (Sejong), Lee Hyun-joo, Son Sun-hee (Sejong)] "Boss, the delivery receipt (proof of delivery) from the day before yesterday, we need it now for the month-end closing." "You want me to take a 25-ton truck to the post office right now?"

Jang Tae-hyo, who worked as a manager dispatching trucks to cargo owners at a transportation company, decided to start his own business after 17 years of brokerage work, witnessing the struggles of cargo owners and drivers every month-end closing due to a single 'receipt.' Thanks to his habit of reading economic newspapers, he even considered building an electronic document system and hurriedly headed to Jeju Island to explore concrete methods. Upon advice that the Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation was the best place for smart technology guidance, he rushed to meet Governor Won Hee-ryong.

He explained, "Although I didn't get to meet Governor Won, I was introduced to the Daejeon and Daegu Innovation Centers there and participated in mentoring services at Hanbat National University, eventually receiving one-stop startup services from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. I didn't know English or technical terms, but I managed to select a software developer and now understand the system. I have no religion, but I can only call it a miracle with God’s help."

After graduating from high school, Jang worked for three years at the cosmetics company 'Peerless' and then helped around her husband's circle after marriage. Now, she has become the proud CEO of Barosign, a smart waybill company. She set up her first office last year and officially started the business, with meaningful sales expected in the second half of this year. She expressed her ambition, saying, "I want to grow the company further by attracting investment and also start scholarship projects. Since I have no children, I want to develop this company into a social enterprise and pass it on to a junior professional manager."

These days, Jang enjoys attending a YouTube academy, learning the concepts and techniques of content creation one by one. While her goal is to acquire digital device skills, above all, she started to understand the 'generation' that will lead the future. Jang said, "I was raised believing that working hard and doing well was important, but nowadays, young people know that success on YouTube depends on finding the right 'angle.' I find vlogs fresh and interesting, and I want to create related content," she said with a serious expression.

Jang emphasized, "Our (Baby Boomer) generation is large and tends to live more youthfully, but personally, I think we are the ones who broke the bad Korean custom of 'living in-laws' oppression. This is just one phenomenon, but we take pride in our determination not to pass on the unfair treatment we received from the older generation to our descendants or juniors." She laughed and added, "So where do we relieve stress? We often gather with friends to vent."
