[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was selected as a ‘General Financial Support University’ in the ‘2021 University Basic Competency Diagnosis Preliminary Results Announcement’ announced by the Ministry of Education on the 17th.
The University Basic Competency Diagnosis, hosted by the Ministry of Education, aims to support the autonomous development of universities to enhance publicness, expand autonomy, and improve the quality of education.
This diagnosis was conducted over six categories including the university’s development plans and achievements over the past three years, educational conditions and accountability in university management, and the operation of classes and curricula.
A total of 233 universities, including 136 general universities and 97 vocational colleges nationwide, were selected as general financial support universities for three years starting next year, receiving various support benefits.
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was selected as an ‘Autonomous Improvement University’ in the ‘2018 University Basic Competency Diagnosis Evaluation’ and has now been selected again as a general financial support university in this evaluation.
The selected universities will receive general financial support along with the authority to autonomously adjust enrollment quotas for three years starting in 2022. Additionally, they will be eligible to apply for all national projects, and enrolled students will enjoy benefits such as national scholarships and student loans.
President Kim Young-do said, “Being consecutively selected as a financially supported university in the University Basic Competency Diagnosis is thanks to the efforts of all Dong-Eui Institute of Technology members who have improved the university’s structure in line with changing times. Based on this, we will raise the level of university education by one step and achieve both student satisfaction education and university development together.”
The final results of the 2021 University Basic Competency Diagnosis are scheduled to be announced at the end of August after university-specific appeals.
