Huons Group Launches ESG Management Innovation Team... Vice Chairman Yoon Sung-tae Appointed as Head

[Asia Economy Reporter Seo So-jung] Huons Group announced on the 18th that it has launched the 'ESG Management Innovation Team' centered on the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Committee at the Huons Global headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam.

The Huons Group ESG Management Innovation Team is composed of the Huons Group ESG Committee, ESG Executive Council, and ESG working-level staff, with Yoon Sung-tae, Vice Chairman and CEO of Huons Global, serving as the head of the team.

The ESG Committee consists of 11 members: seven outside directors and four CEOs from the four listed companies of Huons Group (Huons Global, Huons, Humedics, Huons Blossom). It will review and advise on ESG policies and major management matters.

The ESG Management Innovation Team plans to integrate and operate the ESG activities that Huons Group has been practicing so far, and to systematize and advance sustainable management policies, systems, and policies. Additionally, by publishing the Huons Group Sustainable Management Report, it will disclose annual achievements to strengthen external communication and proactively respond to ESG investments and various ESG issues in line with global management trends.

In terms of Environment (E), Huons Group has continuously made efforts to produce environmentally friendly products and reduce environmental pollution by using biodegradable packaging materials. In terms of Social (S), it has supplied Humetrin tablets (a uterotonic drug and a national essential medicine) and promoted the domestic introduction of continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMS) 'Dexcom G5' and 'Dexcom G6' for type 1 diabetes patients. Regarding Governance (G), since the conversion of Huons Global into a holding company in 2016, it has established a stable corporate governance and management system.

Meanwhile, Huons Group has completed the establishment of a compliance system that meets ESG management, including ISO 37001 certification, centered on its core pharmaceutical business, and is also preparing for ISO 45001 certification (Occupational Health and Safety Management System certification).
