On the 15th, President Moon Jae-in attended the 76th Liberation Day ceremony held at Culture Station Seoul 284 in Jung-gu, Seoul, where he emphasized the vision of becoming a vaccine hub nation, a global leader in semiconductors and batteries, and taking responsibility for carbon neutrality, presenting a dignified vision for advancing to a developed country.
President Moon stated, "We will fulfill our responsibilities in responding to the climate crisis," and emphasized, "Based on the '2050 Carbon Neutrality Scenario' announced by the government on the 5th, we will broadly gather public opinion and pledge achievable 2030 reduction targets within this year to fulfill our responsibilities as a member of the international community."
He continued, "Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 is by no means an easy goal, but it should not be perceived solely as a burden," adding, "The global socio-economic transformation for carbon neutrality will bring unprecedented innovation and create many jobs."
Furthermore, he said, "It is also a golden opportunity to leap forward as a leading country," and stated, "The government has been nurturing eco-friendly vehicles, batteries, and the hydrogen economy as future growth engines, while reducing coal power and expanding renewable energy such as solar and offshore wind."
Choi Jae-ho, a researcher at Hana Financial Investment, introduced, "Biodiesel is a liquid fuel similar to diesel, chemically processed from oil components such as palm oil and soybean oil," and "bio-heavy oil is an eco-friendly fuel source that replaces bunker C oil for power generation." He added, "In conclusion, biofuels are a core business in the ESG trend that reduces carbon emissions," emphasizing, "With carbon neutrality policies, the demand for bio-heavy oil will surge year by year."
He noted that an environment is being created where biofuel companies can structurally grow and highlighted the need to pay attention to JC Chemical.
