Dongdaemun-gu, 2022 Informatization Project Budget Feasibility Review

From August 13 to September 27, review of informatization projects for feasibility, budget adequacy, and duplication prevention to ensure efficient budget management

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) will conduct a feasibility review of the 2022 informatization project budget to ensure the efficient operation of the informatization project budget in line with next year's budget formulation schedule.

The district plans to review the feasibility, redundancy, and appropriateness of the required budget for all informatization projects requiring funding from August 13 to September 27, aiming to prevent duplicate investments and operate the budget efficiently.

Unlike other public investment projects, informatization projects have a relatively short life cycle and a high possibility of duplicate investments due to the network characteristics of information and communication technology.

Additionally, significant maintenance costs are incurred during actual operations, such as information updates and security processing.

To promote efficient implementation and systematic management of the 2022 informatization projects, the district will conduct reviews based on criteria including ▲project purpose ▲redundancy ▲technical aspects ▲budget appropriateness for all informatization projects requiring budgets, excluding some projects such as simple maintenance.

Field officers from the Smart City Division, the supervising department (in charge of information systems, homepage, information and communication, etc.), will conduct the budget feasibility review and notify the relevant project departments of decisions such as ▲approval ▲conditional approval ▲postponement. The project departments will then reflect the review results and adjust the project contents accordingly to proceed with the informatization projects.

The district is currently establishing a mid- to long-term informatization basic plan to prepare the basic direction and phased policy implementation plan for Dongdaemun-gu's informatization projects over the next five years.
