After Holidays and Long Weekends, Testing Recommended at Nearby Centers Even Without Symptoms... Actively Promoted Through District Website, SNS, Banners, and Other Online and Offline Media
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is conducting a campaign titled ‘Get a COVID-19 Preemptive Test After Vacation and Holidays’ to prevent the spread of local COVID-19 infections.
This campaign is being promoted to encourage preemptive testing due to concerns about the risk of infection transmission caused by increased outdoor activities and visits to other regions during the summer vacation and holiday periods.
The district has displayed banners with the phrase ‘Be sure to get a COVID-19 preemptive test after vacation and holidays’ at nine subway stations and areas with high foot traffic, and requested participation in preemptive testing through video media in apartment elevators and big screens in the subway.
Additionally, through the Gwangjin-gu Office website, blog, and SNS, they are actively promoting ▲ staying at home rather than traveling or moving ▲ mandatory mask-wearing and social distancing when movement is unavoidable ▲ and getting a preemptive test before returning to daily life after travel.
Currently, Gwangjin-gu conducts COVID-19 testing at five locations: ▲ Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center Screening Clinic ▲ Junggok Health Subcenter Temporary Screening Clinic ▲ Jayang Health Subcenter Temporary Screening Clinic ▲ Konkuk University Hospital Screening Clinic (paid) ▲ and the Youth Terrace Mobile Screening Clinic at Konkuk University Station (until August 14).
Furthermore, to allow visitors to check congestion levels before visiting screening clinics, a waiting status board is operated on the Gwangjin-gu Office website. By pressing the refresh button, users can check in real time the expected waiting times at Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center and the Junggok and Jayang Health Subcenter Temporary Screening Clinics, enabling them to choose a screening clinic with a shorter wait time.
In addition, by accessing the Smart Seoul Map site and selecting the screening clinic congestion status, users can check the congestion status of screening clinics throughout Seoul.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “With the vacation season coinciding with holidays, concerns about the spread of local infections are increasing. During holidays such as Gwangbokjeol, please stay at home and refrain from traveling. For the sake of your family and community, even if you have no symptoms, please visit a nearby temporary screening clinic and be sure to get tested.”
