[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] PHC announced on the 12th that it has signed a smart care zone lease contract with E-Land Retail.
This lease contract is a follow-up measure to the digital healthcare business agreement signed between PHC and E-Land on July 6th. PHC will install smart care zones in E-Land Retail stores and start a personalized health functional food business.
The first store will be at NC Department Store Gangseo Branch and is scheduled to open in mid-September. Starting with this store, the two companies plan to gradually expand the installation to offline retail stores operated by E-Land Retail, such as NC Department Store, NewCore, and 2001 Outlet.
Customers visiting the smart care zone stores can understand their health status through simple examinations and medical interviews, and various products including personalized health functional foods will be recommended through artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms based on big data. In particular, the recommended health functional foods can be packaged in small portions on-site.
Currently, only 16 companies that have passed the regulatory sandbox can conduct personalized health functional food recommendations and small portion packaging businesses. PHC is one of the 16 companies that passed the regulatory sandbox, and its biggest feature is that it provides not only health functional food recommendations but also health management functions through an app.
Additionally, the highly accurate algorithms using big data and AI technology, which PHC has recently been focusing on, are also PHC’s unique advantages that differentiate it from other companies.
The name of the smart care zone store opening this time is ‘MoHe’s,’ meaning a space showcasing PHC’s comprehensive health management app MoHe (an abbreviation of Mobile Healthcare). PHC plans to expand its digital healthcare business by sharing MoHe app data with E-Land. Furthermore, PHC is preparing to launch MoHe’s as a health management model for workplaces such as corporate offices and shared offices.
