[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Drugs including methamphetamine were found in the vehicle of a driver suspected of drunk driving, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

On the 11th, the Yeonje Police Station in Busan announced that they are investigating a man in his 40s, Mr. A, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

At around 3:49 a.m. on the 10th, a 112 report was received about a vehicle suspected of drunk driving on the road in front of a pub in Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan.

When the police checked with the driver, Mr. A, it was found that he was not intoxicated, but Mr. A continued to act suspiciously, rambling incoherently.

While inspecting Mr. A’s vehicle, the police discovered 4g of methamphetamine, 39 syringes, an electronic scale, and 5 mobile phones.

At the time of arrest, Mr. A attempted to destroy evidence by tearing it up and ingesting methamphetamine. After consuming methamphetamine, Mr. A even received medical treatment at a hospital.

The police are investigating Mr. A regarding how he obtained the drugs and whether he drove while hallucinating.
