- Management Technology Guidance Association SME & Mid-sized Enterprise M&A Consulting Support
The Korea Management Technology Guidance Association (President Kim Oh-yeon, hereinafter referred to as the “Guidance Association”) and the Korea M&A Exchange (hereinafter referred to as the “Exchange”) announced on the 10th that they have signed a business agreement to establish a mutual cooperation system in areas such as M&A, IPO, investment, education, and corporate consulting for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies.
Through this business agreement, the Guidance Association and the Korea M&A Exchange agreed to actively cooperate to promote the growth and development of both selling and buying companies during the M&A process, maximize corporate value, and achieve industrial development, thereby creating synergy between the two organizations and enhancing efficiency.
The Guidance Association is an organization under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, composed of approximately 17,000 nationally certified management consultants and technical consultants. Since its establishment in 1986, it has significantly contributed to the growth and development of small businesses, small merchants, and self-employed individuals for 35 years. With the enforcement of the “Management Technology Consultant Act (abbreviated)” enacted in 2020, it became a statutory body for nationally certified consultants in 2021.
The Korea M&A Exchange, established in 2014, is the largest M&A platform organization in South Korea, having built an M&A execution system, network, and platform for SMEs. It consists of 25 full-time staff and 125 M&A professional consultants including lawyers, accountants, and patent attorneys, with over 7,000 experts participating in the M&A platform.
Kim Oh-yeon, President of the Guidance Association, stated, “Through this agreement, management consultants and technical consultants affiliated with the Guidance Association, as well as ICMCI CMCs (International Certified Management Consultants), will participate in the Exchange’s M&A partner system and platform infrastructure to directly engage in corporate M&A transactions or expand their activities as M&A professional consultants. They will also enhance their expertise in areas such as M&A, corporate rehabilitation, and corporate finance through related education. On the other hand, by having our members with rich field experience participate in the rapidly expanding M&A market for SMEs and mid-sized companies, we aim to assist those companies facing difficulties in progressing and completing M&A deals.”
He also revealed the future direction, saying, “By actively exchanging with other 19 expert groups such as the ESG Business Group, Export Business Group, and Data Convergence Business Group, which are currently being promoted alongside the M&A Business Group, we will strive to generate synergy effects through collective intelligence.”
