[Exclusive] Jeong Jaegwang Joins Hands with Song Joongki, Cast in Movie 'Yahaeng'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Jung Jaekwang, who partnered with Highstory DNC, the agency of actor Song Joongki, will appear in the movie "Night Walk."

According to Asia Economy's report on the 10th, Jung Jaekwang was cast in the movie "Night Walk," starring Ha Jungwoo and Kim Namgil, and completed filming last April.

"Night Walk" is a mystery thriller depicting the events that unfold when a detective investigates the death of a bestselling author's husband and discovers that the case closely resembles the novel. The film is produced by Sanai Pictures and directed by Kim Jin-hwang, who gained attention with "The Shepherds" (2016).

Notably, "Night Walk" is the first project invested in by Kakao M after acquiring Sanai Pictures, drawing attention from the film industry. The movie is reportedly planning a simultaneous release on the online platform KakaoTV and in theaters. However, specific schedules and distribution formats have not been finalized.

Jung Jaekwang is expected to showcase a distinctive presence alongside actors Ha Jungwoo, Kim Namgil, Yoo Da-in, and Jung Man-sik in "Night Walk."

Previously, Jung Jaekwang debuted with the film "Scouting Report" (2015) and early on made his mark in the film industry by winning the Independent Star Award at the 2016 Seoul Independent Film Festival for the indie film "Suffering and Greatness." Since then, he has been recognized for his stable acting skills in works such as "The Witness," "Extreme Job," "Vertigo," "Pipeline," "Not Out," and dramas like "Save Me," "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," and "Nevertheless."

He has continued acting without pause. Jung Jaekwang won the Best Actor award at last year's Jeonju International Film Festival for the movie "Not Out" and recently completed filming for "The Outlaws 2" in June, awaiting its release.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Highstory DNC announced that they signed an exclusive contract with Jung Jaekwang. The news that Jung Jaekwang will be under the same agency as Song Joongki attracted attention.

The agency stated, "Jung Jaekwang is a charming actor with various appealing facets. We look forward to how his limitless potential will manifest in the future," adding, "We will actively support him to carry out more vigorous acting activities in various fields."

Highstory DNC is an entertainment company established in 2020 by CEO Hwang Ki-yong, who led iHQ's drama division and has had a long-standing relationship with Song Joongki through works like "The Innocent Man" and "Deep Rooted Tree." The agency represents Song Joongki, Yang Kyung-won, Lim Cheol-soo, Go Bo-gyeol, among others.

Attention is focused on Jung Jaekwang's activities as he settles into his new agency.
