- Service to be deployed on KT G-Cloud with CSAP certification expected to be completed within the year
- Noticeable increase in public institution inquiries regarding recent collaboration tool adoption
‘Flow,’ the No.1 domestic collaboration tool, is teaming up with ‘KT’ to expand its presence in the public sector market. They announced that they are working on obtaining CSAP security certification by integrating Flow into ‘KT Public Cloud’ (G-Cloud), a cloud service exclusively provided by KT for public institutions, enabling collaboration tools to be adopted and used even in security-sensitive public organizations.
The plan is to allow government agencies, local governments, public enterprises, quasi-governmental organizations, and other public institutions to use collaboration tools in a cloud environment that meets stringent security requirements, facilitating efficient communication and management of tasks. Flow has already been deployed in several military units, central administrative departments, and national public universities through on-premise supply cases.
The main features offered include an all-in-one collaboration tool integrating ‘projects, messenger, tasks, Gantt charts, video conferencing, and file storage,’ with the advantage of enabling real-time collaboration and tracking of work progress. Meanwhile, Flow was selected as the No.1 brand in the collaboration tool category for two consecutive years at the ‘2021 Brand of the Year Awards’ hosted by the Korea Consumer Forum, leading the digital transformation of domestic companies in the post-COVID-19 era and continuing its successful trajectory.
Last year, the government announced as part of its Digital New Deal plan that it aims to fully transition public sector systems to 100% cloud by 2025. As collaboration tools emerge as a core solution for corporate digital transformation, inquiries about adopting collaboration tools have been increasing even among public institutions, which have traditionally taken a conservative approach to adopting new technologies and solutions, according to the company.
Flow CEO Lee Hak-jun said, “Although the cloud is becoming mainstream, public institutions have significant concerns because it is not easy to apply security at the same level as on-premise systems. However, through cooperation with KT, we will actively support the cloud transition of the domestic public sector by providing a cloud security environment and secure solutions that fully meet the stringent requirements of public institutions.”
Currently, Flow is the first and only collaboration tool in Korea to support three service types: △ Cloud (SaaS) type △ Customized cloud hosting type for clients △ On-premise installation type. To address network separation issues in companies and institutions where security requirements are strict and collaboration tool adoption is challenging, Flow supports internal server installation.
Additionally, thorough development responses are carried out during processes such as penetration testing and vulnerability assessments required by security departments. Because it offers flexible service types according to the client’s environment and security requirements, it has received strong positive feedback from companies and institutions seeking to build safe digital office environments tailored to their business needs.
Public institutions are especially sensitive to security. Flow stated that it takes service security very seriously and is intensively enhancing its features. Representative security functions of Flow include data encryption, logging of file download/capture records, capture prevention, and two-factor authentication. One special security feature is the ‘secure chat’ function, which automatically deletes chat messages from the server after a set period to avoid storing messages on the server. Therefore, there is no need to use Telegram separately.
Meanwhile, Flow boasts outstanding adoption cases in ‘large corporations, financial institutions, and public institutions.’ Notable clients include Hyundai and Kia Motors, Hyundai Mobis, JTBC, E-Land Retail, DB Financial Investment, BGF Retail, Daegu Bank, SK Infosec, KB Capital, and Hyundai Engineering. It is used by a wide range of companies from large corporations to over 2,500 small and startup businesses across various industries and sizes to improve productivity. This year, Flow marked the first year of expanded adoption in the financial sector, increasing cases among first-tier financial institutions such as KB Capital, Daegu Bank, and IBK Asset Management.
