[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Public Construction Support Center has received certification as a government public architecture support center. The Gyeonggi-do Public Construction Support Center is an institution entrusted and operated by Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH).
GH announced on the 10th that the Gyeonggi-do Public Construction Support Center was designated as a 'Regional Public Architecture Support Center' by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 29th of last month.
The Regional Public Architecture Support Center is an organization that oversees and supports from the planning and design stages of public architecture projects promoted by Gyeonggi-do, city and county governments, and local public enterprises.
The center will be responsible for ▲pre-review of project plans to improve the quality of public architecture ▲consultation on public architecture ordering, planning, management, design, and energy efficiency ▲training for stakeholders ▲building a database, among other tasks.
Since June, the center has conducted an open recruitment of experts in various fields such as architectural planning, environmental planning, and interior architecture, completing the formation of an advisory committee of about 75 members.
Additionally, since early this year, the center has continuously recruited professional personnel to enhance expertise and strengthen its foundation. In July, it initiated a website construction project to establish a basis for system promotion and information provision. The center’s website will be launched by the end of this year.
Cha Jeong-pil, head of the Gyeonggi-do Public Construction Support Center, stated, "With the establishment of the public architecture support center function, we expect to create high-quality public buildings that reflect regional characteristics and residents' needs."
