Among meal kit startup brands, ‘Jibeoga,’ which boasts the shortest period to surpass 100 stores, announced that it will donate meal kits worth 20 million KRW as a neighborly love sponsorship for low-income families in Ansan City.
On the 5th, Jibeoga and Ansan City held a delivery ceremony at Ansan City Hall attended by Ansan Mayor Yun Hwa-seop and Park Sang-mi, CEO of Youngsang F&B, to mark this occasion.
Through this donation, Jibeoga plans to provide 100 to 200 units of 2 to 3 types of meal kit products monthly for one year to single-person households facing financial difficulties. Considering that these are refrigerated and frozen foods, the donation will be processed through the Food Bank, a food donation service provider, for distribution.
A representative of Jibeoga said, “We heard that social welfare facility operations have been reduced due to strengthened social distancing measures amid the recent COVID-19 situation, so we prepared this social contribution activity. We will continue to showcase various activities that give back the love received from customers to society and fulfill our corporate social responsibility.”
Meanwhile, Jibeoga, a leading domestic meal kit specialty store, has shown outstanding performance in the meal kit startup franchise industry by signing franchise contracts for 100 stores in the shortest period despite the overall downturn in the startup market caused by the COVID-19 impact.
