[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Port Authority (BPA) is recruiting companies eligible for support under the 'Busan Port Industrial Innovation Movement' until the 16th of this month.
Since 2014, BPA has been promoting the 'Industrial Innovation Movement' to support productivity improvement such as technological innovation and production process enhancement for small and medium-sized partner companies at Busan Port.
The Industrial Innovation Movement is a project that provides customized consulting for overall corporate activities, including improvement of working environment, production processes, and management processes of small and medium-sized partner companies.
If necessary, it also supports equipment investment costs required for productivity improvement.
This year, tasks related to the Digital New Deal (such as logistics base advancement), a core of the Korean New Deal, and localization of materials, parts, and equipment have been added to the support targets.
In connection with the public institution-small business cooperation profit-sharing system, a certain incentive will be provided upon achieving common goals.
BPA has decided to select and support six companies to provide opportunities for sustainable growth through productivity innovation to small and medium-sized enterprises in the shipping and port sectors of Busan and Gyeongnam, which are struggling due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Support target companies will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of application forms and company status, and support will be provided at around 15 million KRW per company.
Interested companies can apply through the BPA website.
Nam Ki-chan, President of Busan Port Authority, said, “We will spread a culture of productivity innovation throughout the shipping and port industry, create cooperative profits with small and medium-sized partner companies at Busan Port, and continuously enhance the competitiveness of Busan Port as a global advanced port.”
