[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Hyundai Green Food, a comprehensive food company affiliated with Hyundai Department Store Group, announced on the 5th that it delivered 300 'Greeting Nutrition Kits' consisting of care food products to the Gyeonggi Eastern Veterans Office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs ahead of Malbok (the last of the three hottest days in summer).
The 'Greeting Nutrition Kit' is a home meal replacement that only requires heating fully cooked side dishes and consists of three types: 'Yugeunpi Chicken Leg Baeksuk,' 'Abalone Intestine Porridge,' and 'Beet Fresh Perilla Leaf Kimchi.'
The delivered nutrition kits will be individually provided to low-income households and elderly living alone among veterans receiving home welfare services residing in the eastern Gyeonggi areas such as Seongnam, Hanam, and Yongin.
A Hyundai Green Food official said, "Since 2017, we have provided home meal replacements to underprivileged groups during the Lunar New Year period in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Eastern Veterans Office of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. This year, hearing that many underprivileged groups are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and heatwaves, we decided to support Greeting Nutrition." He added, "We will continue to strengthen customized support projects for underprivileged groups to realize social value."
Meanwhile, since early this year, Hyundai Green Food has been operating the 'Greeting Care Project' in partnership with Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province, Hanaro Medical Foundation, and Seoul Medical Science Institute, providing care food low-sugar diets and on-site health checkups for elderly living alone in Seongnam City.
