[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics launched the 'Wind-Free System Air Conditioner 4Way,' the largest capacity in Korea with an expanded cooling area, on the 5th.

The Wind-Free System Air Conditioner 4Way is a ceiling-type system air conditioner indoor unit. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) defines wind with an airflow of 0.15 m/s or less as 'wind-free,' and Samsung Electronics' new product meets this standard.

The Wind-Free System Air Conditioner 4Way is available in two models: a 16 kW model and the largest capacity in Korea, a 17 kW model. Samsung Electronics explained, "The new 17 kW product has about 17% larger cooling area compared to the existing 14.5 kW product, effectively cooling and heating large spaces such as stores up to 154.5㎡, large conference rooms, and restaurant halls. It also reduces costs significantly as there is no need to install multiple indoor units."

The Wind-Free System Air Conditioner 4Way was recognized for its energy-saving efforts and received the highest award, the 'Energy Grand Prize and Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award,' at the 24th Energy Winner Awards. The Energy Winner Awards are given to promote the production and consumption of high-efficiency energy products.

It also obtained the 'AI+ Certification' from the Korea Standards Association. The AI+ Certification verifies the quality of products applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology based on international standards from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Yang Hye-soon, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics' Home Appliance Business Division, said, "We launched the Wind-Free System Air Conditioner 4Way with the largest capacity in Korea so that customers can feel comfort even in large spaces. We will continue to lead the system air conditioner market with differentiated energy-saving technology and AI technology, as well as cooling and heating performance."
