[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is recruiting 30 companies to participate in the Overseas Branch Project and Domestic and International Market Expansion Support Project from the 9th to the 16th.

The district has established policies to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling due to COVID-19 to develop new markets, leading efforts to strengthen companies' competitiveness by promoting the Overseas Branch Project and Domestic and International Market Expansion Support Project.

The market expansion support areas include the Overseas Branch Project, where organizations such as KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) act as overseas business hubs to conduct overseas market analysis, demand surveys, promotion, and marketing on behalf of companies; participation in exhibitions or fairs; and marketing support for promoting SME products.

For companies participating in the Overseas Branch Project and domestic and international exhibitions and fairs, partial participation fees and project expenses for product promotion marketing such as website and brochure production will be supported. Ten companies will be selected in each of the three fields, with up to 2 million KRW per company, totaling 30 companies receiving 60 million KRW in support.

Last year, a total of 21 companies received 39 million KRW in support, and through the increased budget this year, more companies will be able to carry out various projects.

Applicants must be SMEs located in Seongdong-gu. Since the criteria vary depending on the support field, please refer to the district website's public notice for detailed information. Applications must be submitted by the 16th of this month either in person or via email (jms1001@sd.go.kr).

After the application deadline, companies will be selected based on internal evaluation criteria such as business readiness, with those scoring highest being chosen.

Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “We hope that through opportunities to develop domestic and international markets, SMEs going through difficult times can secure competitiveness. We will continue to actively support the necessary areas for companies to establish self-sustainability and promote their growth.”
