Seocho-gu Operates Mobile App 'Ppaegi' for Large Waste Disposal

Seocho-gu Operates Mobile App 'Ppaegi' for Large Waste Disposal

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Cho) started operating the mobile app "Ppaegi," operated by "Gatda Co., Ltd.," which allows easy reporting and payment of large waste disposal, from the 2nd to promote large waste disposal reporting.

The "Ppaegi" app service enables users to apply for collection and make payments all at once via mobile phone without attaching a payment sticker when disposing of large waste.

By downloading the "Ppaegi" app from the smartphone's Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS), users can take and upload photos of the items to be disposed of. The AI object recognition function then estimates the cost, and after entering the collection location and making the payment, a disposal number is automatically generated and immediately sent to the collection company, allowing for easy large waste disposal application without a separate sticker.

Additionally, used furniture and electronic products that can be recycled are linked with specialized local used recycling centers to provide sales services. Furthermore, through the mobile app, a paid waste pickup service called "Naeryeodeurim" is available for the elderly, women, and single-person households who have difficulty moving large waste.

To reduce the amount of garbage disposal, the district has installed a total of 337 ice pack collection boxes at 18 community service centers and 226 apartment complexes within the area. The collected ice packs are washed, disinfected, and provided to local small business owners.

Mayor Eunhee Cho stated, "Previously, the large waste reporting method was complicated, but now it has become convenient for residents to simply report with a finger through the mobile app in line with the untact era," and added, "We will continue to strive to prepare administrative services that enhance residents' convenience."
