On the 4th, the South Korea women's volleyball team defeated Turkey 3-2 in a full-set battle in the quarterfinals of the women's volleyball event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics held at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan. The women's volleyball team advanced to the Olympic semifinals for the first time in nine years since the 2012 London Games.


Citizens sent messages of support. A 20-year-old university student, Mr. A, said, "The players have worked really hard and have done so well so far. If you keep pushing a little more, we will cheer for you from the sidelines."


An 80-year-old citizen, Mr. B, said, "Thank you so much for fighting so well." Another citizen, Mr. C, said, "I watched the game very nervously," adding, "I hope the remaining matches go well too."


The South Korean team won against Turkey in a close match that went to five sets with a set score of 3-2 (17-25, 25-17, 28-26, 18-25, 15-13). On that day, Kim Yeon-koung scored 28 points alone, leading the team to the semifinals.


Meanwhile, the team will face the winner of the Brazil vs. ROC (Russian Olympic Committee) match on the 6th in a decisive battle for a place in the final.
