[Yeongam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do held a progress report meeting on the 3rd to prepare for the 2021 Government Joint Evaluation and devised measures to improve performance.
According to Yeongam-gun on the 4th, the meeting focused on analyzing 116 detailed indicators to assess the progress so far, identify problems and countermeasures, and discuss plans to enhance performance.
In particular, due to the recent resurgence of COVID-19 and the escalation of the 'social distancing' level, some indicators are expected to face difficulties in achieving their targets. Accordingly, the progress of each department was analyzed, and countermeasures to achieve the goals were reported.
Deputy Governor Park Jong-pil stated, “The Government Joint Evaluation is the most fair system to evaluate and check the administrative capabilities of local governments. Since it assesses Yeongam-gun’s administrative power and shows the results to the residents, I urge the indicator managers in the second half of the year to be encouraged and to maintain frequent contact and cooperation requests for indicators requiring interdepartmental collaboration, doing their best to improve performance.”
Meanwhile, the Government Joint Evaluation is conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in cooperation with central government ministries, setting detailed indicators to evaluate the administrative capabilities of local governments in carrying out national delegated tasks and major national policy achievements.
