Tongyeong City in Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it will provide a mobile fare payment service starting from the 9th, which does not require face-to-face contact with taxi drivers, the first of its kind nationwide.

All 660 taxis in Tongyeong City equipped with a linkage device connected to the meter will be able to accept mobile payments.

The linkage device attached to the taxi sends the usage amount to the passenger's smartphone app, and the passenger pays the fare through the app.

Passengers can pay directly with their smartphones without handing money or credit/cash cards to the taxi driver.

To use this service, you must install the 'Taxi ZeroPay' app on your smartphone.

Through this app, taxi fares can also be paid using the mobile Tongyeong Love Gift Certificate.

If two or more passengers use the Taxi ZeroPay app, payment can also be made via 'Dutch pay (1/n split payment)'.
