[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Heungkuk Life Insurance announced on the 4th that it has donated 30 million KRW to the Seoul Child Shared Living Home Support Center to support children in group homes.

Group homes are small-scale shared living homes for children in need of protection due to family breakdowns. Since 2013, Heungkuk Life Insurance has been providing sponsorship funds to improve the living environment of children in group homes.

This donation was raised through a matching grant method, where employees voluntarily participated to raise funds and the company added the same amount. The funds will be used to replace outdated home appliances in group home facilities.

A Heungkuk Life Insurance official said, "We hope this will be of some help to group home families who are going through even more difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and recent heatwaves."
