Jo Young-hoon, Chairman of Jung-gu Council, Visits 'Mobile Temporary Screening Clinic' to Encourage Staff

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jo Young-hoon, Chairman of the Jung-gu Council in Seoul (Chairman of the National Association of City and County Councils), visited the mobile temporary screening clinic located in front of Hwanghak-dong Community Center on the 30th of last month to encourage the medical staff involved.

Chairman Jo expressed his appreciation to the staff who are doing their best to prevent the spread of COVID-19 despite the heatwave.

He then delivered snacks and other encouragement items, listened to the on-site situation, and heard the difficulties faced by the staff.

Chairman Jo said, “I deeply thank all the staff who are working hard for community safety and quarantine despite the hot weather. I hope all staff take care of their health and safety, and the council will do its best to prepare support measures needed at the quarantine sites.”

Kim An-sook, Chairwoman of Seocho-gu Council, Joins Anti-Racism ‘Live Together Challenge’

Kim An-sook, Chairwoman of Seocho-gu Council, participated in the anti-racism campaign ‘Live Together Challenge’ on the 3rd.

This campaign is a global anti-racism relay campaign jointly promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNESCO to respond to the increasing racial discrimination and hate crimes worldwide amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Chairwoman Kim stated, “As we all need to work together to overcome the great crisis of COVID-19, we must stop discrimination against each other and unite with understanding and tolerance,” adding, “I hope this campaign will help us take a step toward a world where diversity is respected.”

Having been nominated by Kim Ho-seok, Chairman of Andong City Council, Chairwoman Kim nominated Jo Young-hoon, Chairman of the National Association of City and County Councils, as the next participant in the campaign.
